Landox Channel Aeration System One or more low speed (7-15rpm) vertical LANDOX rotors, located in the bends of the ditch, provide the required propulsion. The LANDOX rotor consists of a vertically mounted drum with 16 radially mounted blades. The rotor may be constructed of either stainless steel or coated mild steel. The revolutionary design of the LANDOX top bearing eliminates the problem of an underwater bottom bearing, yet maintains the strength needed for the suspended rotors to be driven with rugged helical gearboxes. Other types of flow velocitors - installed in the straight channels of an oxidation ditch - will cause dead zones just after the bends, leading to the settlement of solid particles and sludge. The LANDOX rotors have been designed to be installed in the bends of the ditch, therefore no dead zones will occur. |
