High rate thickener units are provided in sizes ranging from 5' to 250' in diameter, and can accommodate drive head torques of up to four million foot pounds. The configuration of these units can be suited to meet your needs. They are available in shaft or cage driven models.

Shaft Type Units

Shaft driven coal thickeners can be truss or beam supported for heavy duty applications. A heavy duty drive unit with precision bearing and gear transmits torque through a steel center shaft to the rake arms. Equiped with Torkmatic drive control, the WesTech drive unit senses increasing torque and overload conditions, and will sound an alarm to alert an operator. If excessive torque is sensed, the drive control will shut down the unit until conditions permit safe operation. The shaft drive unit is equipped with a rake lifting device, providing added mechanism protection and operation flexibility in an overload condition.

Cage Type Units

Cage drive units are suitable for larger thickeners, and can provide the torque encountered in heavy duty coal preparation thickening. The cage drive is supported by a steel center column. These units transmit torque from a fabricated steel drive unit with precision bearing and gear through a center cage of box truss construction. WesTech cage drive units are also equipped with Torkmatic drive control and can be designed with lifting capabilities.

High Capacity Disc Filters

WesTech's high capacity disc filter offers exceptionally large filtration are per square foot of floor space and provides the latest innovation in disc filter center barrel design. The split center barrel design with offset flow tubes allows WesTech's design to increase filtrate removal, reduce wear on each flow tube, and provide a stronger, more efficient snap blow.

Pressure Filters

The WesTech pressure filter utilizes the continuous filtration advantages of vacuum drum/disc filters with the added benefit of operating pressure up to 100 psi, enabling the pressure filter to effectively filter ultra fine and previously hard-to-filter materials. Designed with the versatility of a drum/disc filter and the performance of a pressure filter, the WesTech pressure filter has the flexibility ot meet the changing requirements of today's process flow streams. Filter cake moistures 20% to 30% lower than conventional vacuum filters with increased throughput saves on drying and transportation and /or disposal cost.

Horizontal Belt Filters

WesTech's horizontal belt filter provides a continuous vacuum on a horizontal plane. Slurries are fed onto a filter cloth supported by a traveling drainage belt. The horizontal belt filter is especially adaptable to applications where low cake moisture is desirable.

Poly-Boss Polymer Control

The WesTech Poly-Boss polymer control system combines state-of-the-art technology with coal processing knowledge and experience to eliminate the "guess work" in polymer dosing. The Poly-Boss is mounted on the thickener bridge, where a representative sample from the flocculation well is drawn up under vacuum and measured. Sample data includes settling rate and unit solids loading and the unit can also measure overflow turbitity.
